Tim takes a look @ Hellboy 2: The Golden Army
Plot: Many, many years ago, Elves and Men fought a bit, and the then the Elf king got the Goblins to build him a whacking great gold clockwork army (the Golden Army), controlled by a 3 piece crown. But the Humans and Elves made a truce and all was well.
Until the Prince got irritated that humans took over and wants revenge, using the army.
Bring in the BRPD…
Music: The words ’Danny Elfman’ automatically makes you happy. A perfect soundtrack. He does every mood so well…
Design: From below the bridge in the troll market to the main players rooms, the designs are top notch.
I’d love to see the concept sketch book for this film. Such invoked atmosphere! Like a Neil Gaiman Book bought to life!
Hollywood: .
Things that make me happy;
* Young Hellboy. The teeth!
* Abe and HB drunken singing.
* The revenge of the lockers.
* Seth MacFarlane as Johann Krauss
* The billboards of plot reflection and prophesy.
* The massive hint of what film 3 will hold.
* The view of Hellboy with the true sight goggles on.
* My Preconceptions of life without David Hyde-pierce as the voice of Abe are quelled. I Am Happy.
The down side
* The Irish goblin uses the word ‘pants’ instead of trousers. Just me being picky really, I suppose it may of confused over the pond chums.
* There was another, but I’ve forgotten.
* Remembered, I would put this like ’Dark Knight’ a ’15’ rather than a ‘12a’ just the violence factor. Mind you, it’s all changed from when I was young….. *ramblerambleramble*
Overall: This film is basically a 99.9% perfect comic book film, go see now. And where do I get a Krauss action figure?….
